I would say that 'alternative' is one of those words that has lost a lot of its meaning when it comes to culture. But when you meet an artist that is truly working in the realm of non-mainstream, you really feel like you understand the meaning again.
Well, almost. And that's the most interesting thing about actor/director Cripsin Glover. Though he has starred in some pretty big films including Back to the Future, Charlie's Angels and most recently Hot Tub Time Machine, he also has his books, music, and films that reflect much more about why he wanted to be an artist in the first place.
While he was in Vancouver for one of his famed Crispin Hellion Glover's Big Slide Shows, I got a chance to sit down with him and ask "What is Alternative Culture?"
