There has been a lot of discussion around Ottawa’s decision to overrule the CRTC's attempt to end, unlimited Internet service. The decision brings much talk and fight, around metered billing systems under which customers could be billed per gigabyte for exceeding their monthly Internet allowance. The ‘magic number’ 25GB per month.
Though the CRTC’s usage based billing decision was overruled, it doesn’t necessarily mean internet caps in Canada are gone (the CRTC's decision related to a request by Bell regarding its wholesale customers, not retail customers. The major ISPs have had caps for a while, and are now just starting to enforce them.)
HOW WOULD THIS DECISION AFFECT YOU?
Do you think 25GB is a fair cap?
Do you know how much bandwidth you use per month?
