EVER THOUGHT ABOUT RETIRING FROM YOUR JOB, LIKE NOW?
Today I read that L’il Wayne is thinking about retirement. At only 29, the rapper is thinking it’s about time to think about other things in life besides the job he says he's been at for the past 18 years. He’s not the first rapper to make this claim/threat. Jay Z and MIA and Lupe Fiasco have all thought out loud about moving on from their musical vocations.
It’s a provocative thought, really. Once you’ve achieved what you want out of a job, and you have enough money to survive, why keep working and worrying and otherwise taking up most of your days with trying to get ahead?
So as most of us begin our works weeks, and the Occupy Wall Street folks keep up their thing, it seems like a good time to think about our priorities and wonder at this thing called life.
