Today's Tour Diary is a little bit of a sidetrack from the usual interview, although there is still a band and tour involved!
For quite a few of the past few years, Adam P.W. Smith has been documenting the Vancouver music scene in photographs, especially the live ones. But inside any music fan is also a fan of the band life. And though he'd always wanted to head out on the road with band himself, it just hadn't happened yet.
But then, two years ago, Adam got his chance with Vancouver Celtic punk outfit The Dreadnoughts. The band was in the midst of a four-month European tour, and camera in hand, Adam joined them for a week. The journey became a book called: This Place is Awesome: A Strange Funny Drunken Sad Noisy Week with The Dreadnoughts.
On the show today Adam joins me to talk about his adventure and the rigours of tour life.
