Tariq's Basement Studio: Coping with the Holiday Hangover

Today's guest: Ali Siadat from Mother Mother

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say the build up to Christmas is better than Christmas itself. Those weeks from mid-November leading up to the 25th--when the excitement simmers like a steamy pot of gluvine--are really the best part. Parties nightly, Christmas concerts. Once you reach Christmas Day, it's kind of a let down.

The weeks leading up to Christmas were certainly lively for me. There was something going on every night. Friends calling, spontaneous coffee dates, impromptu get-togethers (makes you wonder why it's called the "holiday" season at all?).

So, here we are now, the 27th of December and that's when the hangover sets in. You collapse in your chair by the fire and think: what the heck just happened? You're light headed, exhausted--the party's over. Sort of. So, my question for you today:

HOW DO YOU COPE WITH THE HOLIDAY HANGOVER?

Sleep? Sobriety? Alone time? None of the above? Perhaps MUSIC helps you unwind or maybe a good book? Netflix? Or, if you take the "hair of the dog" approach, then dare I ask: Are you "pumped" for New Years Eve?!! What are you up to?

Post your comments on the blog today. Yes, I'll be home nursing my holiday hangover when this show airs, but I'll be looking for your entertaining stories and sage advice.
