My friend Ashley is moving to Kelowna and, before she left, revealed to me that two summer destinations of my youth have been REDUCED TO RUBBLE!!!
There were two rival waterslide parks in Kelowna; Wild Waters and Wild and Wet. I cannot begin to tell you how much summer fun I had in those plastic tubes. My cousins and I would get there extra early and stay extra late, going head first when we weren't allowed and scraping our chins in the shallow pool. But sadly, as we got older, the waterslide trend started to slowly die. I can only count on one hand how many waterslide parks there are now.
Another summer activity that has totally come and gone was that of the MINI GOLF ARCADE SUPER FUN AMUSEMENT PARK! I cannot find any MINI GOLF places in Vancouver for which to take my future children to. Remember Jungle Golf? It was essentially indoor mini golf in the basement of the facility (I didn't care at the time!!!) Our whole family would play a round of Jungle Golf at Scandia in Kelowna and then play the greatest arcade games, like Defender, Bad Dudes and Gunsmoke!! But I hear that that place is barely hanging on!!
Have you been to the Waterslides or to Mini Golf recently? Has going to the beach completely destroyed these summer fun options?
