Though we are apparently always waiting for some massive pandemic (thanks for the anxiety Contagion!), we are actually assaulted each day with viruses of the internet kind, those being the Viral Video.
For anyone who lives online, the constant barrage of videos of the musical, humourous and animal kind, are part of our routine. We click, watch… and then maybe, share. It’s that list bit that’s the most important. And unlike a cold or flu, these viral events are celebrated.
More importantly, a viral video can actually give a musical career a jump light years ahead of where you could be with just a good song. Cas in point, my guests today: Walk Off The Earth. Their cover of Gotye song “Somebody that I used to Know” is sitting at 37 million views on YouTube, and garnered them a spot on Ellen.
In a word: amazing.
