Everyone knows Claire Martin as the sunny face of the CBC Weather Centre. Surprisingly, Martin’s earliest claim to fame was her appearance in the Pink Floyd video “Another Brick in the Wall (Part II).” We asked her to set her iPod to shuffle, and tell us which ten tracks came up first. We’re surprised with what it revealed about her. Who knew she took up piano to cover Norah Jones?

“Kinda apt for the weather girl don’t ya think? U2 is always on my iPod, no matter what.”
2. Foster The People, “Pumped up Kicks”
“Hmm, just downloaded this; it’s a catchy tune.”
3. Barbra Streisand and Judy Garland, “Get Happy/Happy Days”
“Ahh, this song always makes me smile — two ladies at their prime.”
4. Andrew Allen, “Lovin’ You Tonight”
“He’s a B.C. boy, from Vernon, with the most fabulous voice. I’m a huge fan. This is going to be his breakout year.”
5. Spirit of the West, “Political’
“Canada’s best live band. I have literally stalked this band from coast to coast. They’re still going strong.”
6. DB Clifford, “About a Girl”
“I met this guy at a gig in Toronto about five years ago. He’s simply got better and better with every passing year.”
7. Gavin deGraw, “Chariot”
“This guy hit my iPod around the same time as John Mayer did. He hasn’t become as popular; but then, he doesn’t date movie stars. He’s just a great singer-songwriter. Hopefully one day will be as well-known as a better singer and less-promiscuous John Mayer!
8. Adele, “Rolling in the Deep”
“This lady has a HUGE voice. You cannot help but sing along. I love the album 21, and this track is one of my favourites.”
9. Paul Brandt, “Alberta Bound”
“Ha, this is funny. I am not a country music fan, but this song reminds me so much of my beloved Edmonton that I downloaded it when I left to join the CBC!”
10. Norah Jones, “Come Away with Me”
“I loved this song so much I learned to play it on the piano. Now, if I could only sing as well as Norah!”
