Christpher Plummer displayed his usual poise and wit on Sunday as he accepted the Oscar for best actor in a supporting role at the 84th Academy Awards. CBC Music's Concerts on Demand archive contains two concerts featuring Plummer as narrator, both good examples of the same commanding presence.
Music and Shakespeare was a concert recorded at the 2011 Ottawa Chamber Music Festival. The concert was curated by Plummer whose readings of Shakespeare set up works by Mendelssohn, Korngold, Rota and Vaughan Williams.
Plummer can also be heard in the gala concert opening the 90th season of the Toronto Symphony Orchestra in September 2011. On the programme: William Walton's Henry V: A Shakespeare Scenario.
