Frazey Ford is perhaps best known as one part of the Vancouver trio The Be Good Tanyas, but not long ago, Ford set out on her own to tell her own stories with a solo album, Obadiah.
The album, which she describes being “moved by motherhood, earth and land”, comes with an interesting story for its naming. Obadiah, is Ford's middle name. As the story goes, when she was born, her parents asked her brothers to choose her middle name. The family cat, who had recently run off, was named Obadiah, so naturally that is what they picked.
Ford performed her album live in Montreal last September at Le Petit Campus and we were there to catch the show.
