It’s always interesting to find out how artist inspire one and other. Great Lake Swimmers’ new album, New Wild Everywhere, is our featured album of the week and the band is X3’s artist of the month, so they’re inspiring a lot of people these days. We recently caught up with Great Lake Swimmers' Tony Dekker to find out what artist he’s listening to lately, and why.

“My song pick is ‘Love and Light’ from Sandro Perri from his new album Impossible Spaces. I think it’s a really great new record; I’ve been listening to it lately. It’s a pretty progressive yet folky kind of mash-up of a lot of different genres. I’ve been following Sandro for a while now and he even played with us on some of our earlier records, he played some lap steel with us. I’m really digging his new record Impossible Spaces, really lovely new music from him.

“I really like the epic aspect of his new songs especially some of the longer tunes. I really enjoy getting into [it], to really feel the vibe of the song and really feel the rhythm and kind of the extended narrative of some of the songs instrumentally and lyrically. Especially all the cool instrumentation and sort of mixing of genres he’s doing on the new record.”
