I learned a very valuable lesson about bookshelves last weekend: put your smartest books at eye level.
While the cable guy was waiting on the phone in my living room(who knew they had to also call customer service!?) he peered at my bookshelf. Though it was sandwiched between a Gandhi biography and The Weather Makers, I knew he saw the shiny pink and green spine of He’s Just Not That Into You.
Mr Cable guy didn’t say anything, but I knew he saw it. I then offered to let him borrow my Sex & the City DVD collection (insert awkward laugh here).
Lately, I’ve noticed a lot of album art featuring photos of books/bookshelves (Red Orkestra, The Mountains & The Trees, I’m looking at you). I can’t help but believe there’s been intentional arranging (just like I did Sunday afternoon).
When it comes to books do you hide your guilty pleasures? Do you show off your refined reads? What could we find (at eye level) on your book shelf?
Also, there is the assumption that most people have only read 6 of these books, what's your count?
