When Canadian-born Milwaukee Brewers pitcher John “Ax Man” Axford tweeted that he really enjoyed the music of Hamilton band the Reason (specifically “Longest Highway Home”), I’m sure he never thought he’d make a short film with them. But, that is exactly what has happened with the recent YouTube release of Mo’jor League.

The initial Twitter flirting between the baseball star and the rock band then escalated to the band throwing the first pitch at the Brewers season closer back in September. Over the course of getting acquainted, Axford and the band realized that they didn’t just share a similar taste in baseball and music; they also share a similar taste in film. The two joined forces and shot a great-looking little short in Ancaster, Ont., about a scruffy baseball team called the Reason playing the clean cut "Cardinals". Let just say that when the Reason are losing Axford steps in to help but you'll have to watch the movie below to see who actually wins. The whole thing is also set to selections from the band’s album, Fools.
Watch Mo’jor League. Does anyone know what baseball film this is referencing?
According to the Reason’s Twitter feed, the “Mo’jor League party is coming.” We’re not exactly sure what this is alluding to, but we hope it is some sort of baseball-themed gig in Hamilton featuring a lot of moustaches and Axford on vocals.
