On Feb. 19, Toronto’s Aldeburgh Connection celebrated its 30th anniversary with a gala concert at Koerner Hall. Artistic directors Bruce Ubukata and Stephen Ralls invited a stellar lineup of Canadian vocal talent to sing a varied program of art song repertoire. CBC Music recorded the concert, and we’re proud to present the results.
In today’s video excerpt, soprano Nathalie Paulin sings a charming French mélodie by Herman Bemberg with the character of a parlour song.
Here, Paulin introduces Nymphes et sylvains, which she performs with Ralls at the piano.
