Wed - Sun Apr 18 - 22, Lawnya Vawnya, St. John's NF. The second annual edition of this downtown festival, this year featuring an Inbreds reunion, Cadence Weapon, Julie Doiron, BA Johnston, the Olympic Symphonium and lots more.
Fri Apr 20, Library Voices/Yukon Blonde, Regina SK. A huge homecoming party at the University of Regina. Don't miss the after-party at O'Hanlon's with the Dudes!
Sat Apr 21, David Myles, Truro NS. The friendliest man in Canadian music and big ECMA 2012 winner plays the Marigold Theatre.
Fri Apr 20, Radio Radio, Quebec City QU. Hot on the heels of their excellent new album, the hip hop trio play Le Cercle.
Sat Apr 21, Record Store Day, Canada. Even if you don't shop regularly at independent record shops, try to make it out to one on Saturday to see a band and let them know you care! Here's my Top 10 Stores in Canada.
Last weekend the Coachella Music Festival live streamed several sets by all sorts of artists like Radiohead, Bon Iver and the Arctic Monkeys in multi-camera HD. It could be argued that free live streaming of concerts was pioneered by Canadian bands like Holy F (who live streamed a whole tour) and Arcade Fire, and a little bar called the Phog Lounge.
