It’s Album of the Week Day. Well, it’s not actually an official day or anything. Though let me say April 3 for historical moments is pretty thin, with the exception of this gem from 1930: Montreal Canadiens win the Stanley Cup for the first time in the new Montreal Forum, beating Boston Bruins 4-3 in game 2 of a two-game series sweep.
But back to the business at hand. The Album of the Week is New Wild Everywhere from the Toronto folk-poppers the Great Lake Swimmers. And today I talk to singer and songwriter Tony Dekker about the album’s recording (for the first the band headed into a studio, not say a grain silo) social networking (what’s that?) and writing songs for kids and cars.
