In the first hour of Saturday Night Blues, we present our monthly Classic Live Album. This week you’ll hear excerpts from Powder Blues: Live at Montreux. A stellar performance from this Canadian band at the height of their 1983 European tour, recorded at the world famous Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland.
The second hour features an interview with legendary soul singer Bill Medley. As one half of the Righteous Brothers duo, Medley will forever be known for those four words sung in his smooth baritone: “You never close your eyes,” from the classic track “You’ve Lost that Lovin’ Feeling.” Though the other half of the Righteous Brothers duo, Bobby Hatfield, died in 2003, Medley continues to be as busy as he wants to be.
