On Thursday, May 31, Radio-Canada’s Bande à part will host an afternoon of free music at the front plaza of the CBC building in Montreal (1400 Boulevard Rene Levesque Est), featuring four artists performing at this year’s MUTEK festival. If you are in Montreal that day, come have a listen (but only if it's sunny).
If you're not, though, listen live on Sirius 161 or online at bandeapart.fm from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. ET.
Here's the schedule:
11-11:45 a.m.: Paul White (U.K.), with his North American premiere. White composes an exuberant and eccentric music made of soul, hip-hop, jazz and electrofunk.
11:45 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.: DKMD (Montreal, Que.), the moniker for David Kristian and Marie Davidson from Les Momies de Palerme. The duo brings us into a cosmic universe and mellow-sounding disco.
12:15-1 p.m.: Dave Aju (San Francisco, U.S.A.). Marc Barrite (a.k.a. Dave Aju) shares with us his special touch: electro music tinged with jazz on a background of experimental house music.
1-2 p.m.: Danuel Tate (Victoria, B.C.). Best known as the keyboard player for Cobblestone Jazz, Danuel Tate's sound is oriented towards acid jazz and modern house, based on his talent for musical improvisation.
