A few months ago, the young lady that lived in our attic was trying to get out of her lease so she could live with her boyfriend. Our landlord was going to raise a fuss, but I intervened. I saw it as a opportunity to bring someone from the suburbs of Surrey, BC, to join me in the big city. That person was... MY SISTER!!
A BIG MISTAKE? Perhaps. Only a rarely smattering of people have survived their teens without a heathly hatred of their brother or sister. My sister and I were the majority. She belonged to the leg warmer, Cotton Ginney, let's take pictures of us smoking even though we don't smoke, group of folks. I belonged to the Wrestlemania is awesome, jeans make my ass look big, I can't sneak out cuz my mom says I can't, group of people. So when we both moved out of our folks place, the space actually healed a lot of wounds and by the time we hit our mid 20's, became really good friends!
SO WHY DESTROY A GOOD THING?
WHY? Because we are more mature. We enjoy the same things a lot more these days. But most importantly, I like her a lot nowadays. She used to be such a bag when we were younger!
Three months in, and it's been greater than I ever thought possible. Being two floors from my sister is the perfect space away from her and every evening we discuss our day and we haven't gotten into fistacuffs like the good ol' days.
HOW CLOSE CAN YOU LIVE TO YOUR SIBLINGS?
