He broke the conventions of Western art music back in the 1960s and 70s with his Eastern-inspired approach. And ever since he's broken barriers between art forms, collaborating with pop stars, choreographers, poets, and scoring films. This year he's reviving his first-ever opera, the groundbreaking Einstein on the Beach, for the first time in 20 years.
