Today, Diamond Rings, a.k.a John O'Regan, announced he'll release his sophomore album, Free Dimensional, on Oct. 23, 2012. O'Regan also unveiled a string of U.S. dates with Stars, which will begin in late September. In the vein of the previous teaser for "I'm Just Me," O'Regan has also released a trailer for the new album, which you can check out below.
Free Dimensional will be produced by Damian Taylor, who has worked with Bjork, the Killers, Austra and Diamond Ring's former touring partner, Robyn. "I became more comfortable with the medium of electronic music," says O'Regan, who hints that production on the new album will be more refined in comparison to the "homespun quality" of his previous album, Special Affections. The first single for Free Dimensional, a dark, electro-pop dancehall anthem, was released last month.
The song was recently remixed by French electro-pop act Yelle, and is being offered up as a free download.
Diamond Ring's U.S. tour with Stars begins Sept. 20.
