Last week you helped compile a list of band names that sound like solo acts. From Sidney York to Elliott Brood, we covered a lot of ground, but one other thing was brought up: solo acts that are mistaken for groups.
Ever pick up an album only to check out the liner notes and see one person behind it all? See someone on stage performing and wonder “Where’s the band at?” Today we celebrate the glorious confusion when an artist may be confused to be a group.
Here are some artists that will be able to ride with you one a bicycle built for two:
Caribou
Bahamas
Feist
Childish Gambino
Royal Wood
Iron & Wine
Imogen Heap
City & Colour
Final Fantasy (before he went by Owen Pallett)
Grimes
Today we’ll get to some of the origins behind these names.
WHAT SOLO ARTIST'S NAME HAS CONFUSED YOU?
Do you like the idea of a stage name?
Ever thought of what yours would be?

Coming up we’ll talk to Grimes about her Polaris nomination, changing music and where in the world she is right now!
