As Mike Reno of Loverboy so often reminds us, everybody...

Well that weekend has finally arrived. Today is Friday, the 20th of July, the gateway to the weekend so what are you gonna do with it? If you happen to need a concert recommendation, here are the Top 5 Must See Live Gigs of the weekend!

Friday July 20th Old Time Machine, @ Dawson City Music festival, Dawson YT

Old Time Machine is Ryan McNally & Kyle Cashen from Whitehorse who combine banjos, reverb and vintage electronic equipment to create a sound like no other.

Lana Gay is headed to Dawson where they say the streets are paved with gold. She’ll be back on Wednesday with a report of the festival. Here’s the full line up.

Saturday, July 21st, Cadence Weapon @ Lee’s Palace, Toronto ON

Your chance to see Polaris 2012 shortlist nominee Cadence Weapon live. Watch Rollie Pemberton stalk the stage like a rap assassin and feed off the energy of the crowd at Lee’s, one of my favourite but dirtiest venues in T.O

Saturday July 21stMatt Mays @Victoria Rows, Charlottetown P.E.I

This gig suggestion comes from Mike Carver who plays drums with the North Lakes. The band is supporting Matt Mays at a rockin’ outdoor show this weekend. Matt Mays will be showcasing country space-rock jams from his howlin’ new album Coyote. Nice one Mike!

Sunday July 22nd, Grimes @ PNE Coliseum, Vancouver B.C

Before she becomes an intergalactic star, catch Grimes - another Polaris shortlister - who has confirmed she will be playing the Polaris Gala on the 24th of September broadcast on R3.

All weekendJoel Plaskett @ The Home County Folk Festival, London ON

Catch Joel and a tremendous bill of other artists at this admission by donation festival in London entering its 39th year.

WHAT ARE YOU DOING THIS WEEKEND?
