More than any other style of music, blues lyrics provide a wealth of pure-gold wisdom. Even the simplest phrase, like “Talk to me, baby!” is a plea bursting with emotion, and the kind of relationship-saving question Dr. Phil would approve of.
Let’s take a look at a few others that illustrate the deep emotion, and at times, the misguided bravado of these songs.

“Born under a bad sign/I been down since I began to crawl/If it wasn’t for bad luck/I wouldn’t have no luck at all”

Here's “Born Under a Bad Sign” performed by Albert King, written by Booker T. Jones and William Bell

If you're like me, here's a line you might think of after an argument.

“Before you accuse me, take a look at yourself/ You say I’ve been spending my money on other women/ You’ve been taking money from someone else”

This is “Before You Accuse Me” performed by Eric Clapton, written by Bo Diddley.

And here's a line that would START and argument.

“Every day, baby, when the sun go down/I get with my friends, an’ I begin to clown/I don’t care what the people are thinkin’/I ain’t drunk, I’m just drinkin’”

“I Ain’t Drunk” by Jimmy Liggins.

Here's one more.
“You’re looking for a diamond that’s buffed/but I’m a diamond in the rough/after me, you won’t criticize/’cause there’s lightning (in these thunder thighs)”

Who coined that saucey line?

“There’s Lightning (In These Thunder Thighs)” by Saffire - The Uppity Blues Women
