Stewart Goodyear has been honing his refined style and technique since he was a child. He was a prodigy, and by his teen years Goodyear was a veteran concert artist whose achievements included a recording with the Cincinatti Pops Orchestra.
Stewart Goodyear grew up in Toronto. He entered the Curtis Institute in Philadelphia on a scholarship where his teachers included Leon Fleischer. He completed his music studies at the Juilliard School and now divides his time between New York and Toronto.
Goodyear has made a specialty of the Beethoven piano sonatas and in June 2012 he performed all 32 of them in one day, from memory. He's also been composing music since he was a child, and counts both Bach and pop music among his influences. On This Is My Music you'll be able to hear the fugue he wrote to celebrate Glenn Gould.
