Recently canonized with a holy "8.0" on Pitchfork, White Lung and their new record Sorry are starting to get the kind of attention they deserve. I present to you their recently-added-to-R3 track ST. DAD, a real banshee beat thrasher.
ListenWhite Lung are not a band easily categorized. While using terms such as "punk" and "riot grrrl" are somewhat useful for the narrow minded, you can't really compare them to anyone else.
Guitarist Kenneth William's frantic guitar screams on par with singer Mish Way's cerebral-banshee vocals, billowing atop a rhythm section so in step you'd think they are performed by siamese twins on speed (Anne-Marie Vassiliou and Grady Mackintosh, two different humans not on speed). Because I'm starting to sound like a proud mother- I'll leave you with this track, and a suggestion that you get Sorry. Or else.
