This is Part Two of the Tracks on Tracks Special taped on The Canadian.
Just about two months ago, a bunch of people climbed aboard a VIA Rail train in Vancouver bound for Toronto. It was a ride hosted by Green Couch Productions that took bands, fans, a flim crew, contest winners, and me, to the North By Northeast Music Festival.
The ride was called Tracks on Tracks.
Green Couch Productions filmed the entire train ride for a future documentary. They hand-picked six artists to be on the train. Green Couch then allowed YOU, the Radio 3 listener, to select the final three bands in a multi-tiered voting process.
The three winning artists were announced Wednesday May 9 and they were:
:: Chris Ho from Victoria BC
:: Shred Kelly from Fernie BC
:: Sidney York from Calgary.
The other six bands hand-selected by Green Couch Productions are:
:: The Belle Game
:: Maurice
:: The Matinee
:: Portage and Main
:: Adaline
:: Top Less Gay Love Tekno Party
Also on the train were musicians:
:: Adrian Glynn
:: Zach Gray (the Zolas)
:: Bear Mountain
Over the course of the next two days on Grant Lawrence Live, you'll hear what life was like on the train from several of the bands and the fans. At the end of the trip many riders reflected on this voyage as a "trip of a lifetime".
This brings us to our...
