Okay, so after all this weekend's Mars related theatrics, I have space on the brain. Actually, I usually have space on the brain, but now I have a semi-relevant excuse to talk about it!
One of my favourite space/music related things is the gold record that NASA attached to the Voyager spacecraft, soon to be the first man made object ever to exit our solar system (amazing!!!!). The record includes all kinds of stuff that we'd like alien civilizations to know about Earth and humanity, but most beautiful to me is that 90 minutes of music are included.
Of course, the songs were chosen in 1977, and so much has happened since then. So, fellow Earthlings, if you were in charge of sending some music out into the cosmos, what songs would you choose?
