Professor Meowingtons pHd, the feline companion of Deadmau5, has teamed up with consumer electronics company SOL REPUBLIC to create the world’s first pair of cat headphones. The headphones are being auctioned off on ebay at the starting price of $999.00 US, with 100% of the proceeds going to the America Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. According to SOL REPUBLIC, there is a “limited availability” as only 10 pairs of the headphones have been created.
The headphones boast “dog-isolating technology,” and should fit cats of “almost all shapes and sizes,” though the manufacturer says sizes for “huskier cats” may be available in the future. Other specs include deep bass and high clarity, and a three-button remote and microphone. The headphones come with a certificate of authenticity, along with a branded cat headphone display stand. So if you have a grand to spend on your cat, these may just be the perfect gift for the bass-loving feline in your home.
