Canada's maverick country and roots artist is at it again. Corb Lund's latest musical offering is Cabin Fever, a collection of songs recorded twice over. Not content to give us either electric or acoustic versions of his latest tunes, he gives us both.
Even better, from your point of view, is that you can experience both the acoustic and electric flavours on tonight's episode of Canada Live. The Corb Lund concert we have for you, recorded at the Arden Theatre in St. Albert, Alta., features Lund and his tribe of Hurtin' Albertans showing their musical versatility and prowess. One moment they play all amped up, with their signature combination of country, rockabilly and twang (even with a touch of disco thrown in, no less!). The next moment, they're all standing at the lip of the stage, playing acoustically in a curved formation, like some old-tyme radio broadcast.
Sample audio and video from this concert on demand, or tune in for the radio version tonight. As a primer, watch Lund and friends perform their song "The Gothest Girl I Can."
Oh, as far as me calling Lund a "maverick": how many country artists do you know would would write a song called "Mein Deustche Motorrad" or "The Gothest Girl I Can"? Ponder that while you listen.
