Each day, Rich Terfry and Radio 2 Drive wraps up your day with music and stories about the interesting things going on in the world. Now, you can follow along at home. Here are the stories we're talking about today.

JUNK IN THE TRUNK

The crew of folks behind Improv in Toronto, had a great idea in a recent rainstorm. This probably saved a lot of peoples days:

Before the summer runs out, play in the sand as often as you possibly can.

Clean sheets are the best. They are warm. They are crisp. Your skin thanks you. But what do you do with one of those fitted sheets when its clean, but not ready for the bed? They seem impossible to fold. Until now. Check out these steps to improve the world, one fitted sheet at a time.

In summer, it can be tough to keep working when all you want is a vacation. Even if you get a day off work, you can't have an African Safari over a long weekend. Or can you? The folks at Africam have brought the Safari to you. Introducing a 24 hour, 7 day a week Safari Camera you can access from your desk. This will make a cubicle a bit better.

Craving a snack at the end of the day? Or for breakfast? Or a midnight snack? Or just want to snack for no reason at all? Here are some amazing, real, and cheap snacking tips. Salivating yet? The apple sandwhich looks to die for.

SHOWTIME

3:30 p.m.

Starting off today with English teenage heartthrob, Ed Sheeran. We'll play the track, but enjoy a live version while you're here:

4:15 p.m.

When you think of protest songs, names like Joan Baez and Bob Dylan come to mind. But this track from The Coasters predates the entire protest movement. Check out Rear View Mirror, where Rich Terfry sheds some light on some of the most iconic songs in music history.

4:25 p.m.

It's time for dessert lovers everywhere to celebrate. There's a way to snack after dinner and get healthier. To some extent. New studies are showing dark chocolate can lower your blood pressure, where other types of chocolate show the opposite effect. Sounds like it's time to indulge (with a bit of moderation).

4:40 p.m.

It was 11 years ago today that Paul Simon played a free show in New York City's Central Park. Estimates vary, but some 600 000 people attended. We celebrate that day, and you can too with some footage from that performance.

5:10 p.m.

In New York City, they have started a service we could all go for in Canada. How would you like to hail a cab, have it immediately know where you are, and also get to watch it progress toward you? It's all possible on a new app. You'll never have to get caught in the rain again, as long as we can bring the technology north.

5:25 p.m.

Born on this day in 1961, Matt Johnson. Johnson was the lead singer-songwriter for the group The The. The group became well known with the single "Slow Emotion Replay" in 1993.

6:10 p.m.

The Price is Right is a staple of daytime television. Anybody that has ever been sick from work or school has taken in a game of Plinko, and watched the Showcase Showdown. The thing about the show is it almost never changes. It looks like the 80s when you watch it still. But are things about to change? The program is on the search for its first ever male display model. He'll only serve for a week on the program, but it's a start toward equality. Just a couple decades behind.

6:15 p.m.

Victoria is buzzing about their homegrown hero. A 5 year old girl was able to do everything right when her mother fell into a seizure in front of her. She responded correctly at the scene, contacted emergency crews, and everybody was safe in the end. Her 3 year old brother really just liked the fire trucks.

6:35 p.m.

In the spotlight today: Our daily look at new music features The Lumineers and "Stubborn Love".

6:55 p.m.

One For the Road today honours some of Brooklyn's best. Take it home with "Ricky's Theme" by the Beastie Boys.
