Win a trip to the 2012 CCMA Awards in Saskatoon

Fly away with the CCMA! CBC Music wants to send you to Saskatoon this September for the 2012 Canadian Country Music Association Awards.

The awards take place Sept. 9, and will be broadcast nationally on CBC. The gala will feature many of the biggest names in Canadian and international country music, including Johnny Reid, Miranda Lambert, Jason Aldean, Dean Brody, the Pistol Annies and many more.

The contest winner will win a weekend trip that includes a flight for two, a two-night stay at a hotel and a pair of tickets to the awards show, held on Sunday, Sept. 9, at Saskatoon's Credit Union Centre.

To enter, simply send an email to country@cbc.ca with your full name, address, phone number and email address. 

Entries must be received by 12 p.m. ET on Thursday, Aug. 30, 2012. Limit of one entry per person, per day. The winner will be announced Sept. 4 on Radio 2 Morning.

CONTEST RULES AND REGULATIONS

Flyaway with the CCMA! Contest

From Monday August 20, to Thursday August 30, 2012

1. TO ENTER

To enter the Flyaway with the CCMA! Contest, log onto the contest site at www.cbcmusic.ca/ccmaawards. Contestants must complete the official entry form available at the site, providing their full name, address, phone number and e-mail address.

To be valid, all entry forms must be received by 12:00 pm ET on Thursday August 30, 2012. Limit of one entry per person per day. If you do not have internet access via a personal computer, your local library or Internet cafe may be able to provide access to the Internet and a number of internet service providers and other companies offering free e-mail accounts.

All entries become the property of the CBC and will not be acknowledged except as set forth herein. Entries may be used by the CBC for any purpose related to this contest.  The odds of winning the prize are directly related to the number of valid entries. No purchase required.

2. ELIGIBILITY

Contest is open to all Canadian residents who have reached the age of majority in their province of residence at the time of entering the contest. Employees of CBC, the CCMA, and their affiliates, as well as their immediate family (father/mother, brother/sister, son/daughter) or persons living under the same roof are not eligible to enter this contest.

3. PROCEDURE FOR AWARDING PRIZES

On Friday August 31, 2012 a random draw will be conducted. This draw will be made from among all eligible entries received. The first contestant to correctly answer the mandatory mathematical skill-testing question shall be declared the winner, subject to responding all the conditions described in these rules.

Winners will be contacted by telephone during the week following the draw and should claim their prize as instructed by CBC by no later than 3 days after the date they were initially contacted. If the prize is not claimed within this period, a new draw will be held.

4. DESCRIPTION OF PRIZE(S)

There will be One (1) Grand Prize Package awarded.  The Grand Prize Package consists of:

  • One (1) round trip airfare for Two (2) people from the international airport closest to the winner’s place of residence to Saskatoon, Saskatchewan Canada. Departing on Saturday, September  8, 2012 and returning on Monday, September 10, 2012;
  • Two (2) night’s standard accommodation (room & tax only) for Two (2) people, based on double occupancy. Incidentals above this charge will be the responsibility of the contest winner;
  • Attendance (two (2) tickets) at Credit Union Center in Saskatoon, SK for the Canadian Country Music Association Awards on Sunday, September 9 2012;

The prize includes only what is specifically described and no other allowance will be granted. The winner and his/her travel companion will have to pay all expenses including, but not limited to:

  • meals and beverages;
  • transportation costs, including round-trip transfers between the winner’s residence and the airport and/or the airport and hotel;
  • ·       travel insurance (cancellation, medical, etc.);
  • ·       gratuities, tips, taxes of any kind;
  • ·       personal expenses.

The winner and his/her travel companion, if applicable, are responsible for obtaining a valid passport and/or other required travel documentation at their own expense. If the winner and his/her travel companion are unable to travel because they lack proper documentation, the prize will be forfeited without compensation, and a new draw may be held.

The winner must be available to travel on the dates mentioned in the prize description. If the winner is unable to travel on the designated dates, the prize will be forfeited without compensation and a new draw may be held.

Approximate value of the prize varies, depending on transportation costs, but could be up to $2,500.

 

5. GENERAL RULES

5.1 To be declared a winner, the contestant must first correctly answer a mathematical skill-testing question.

5.2 Winners, as well as the people accompanying them, or their parents or guardians if the winners and/or the people accompanying them are minors, shall agree, if necessary, to have their name and/or picture, including their photograph, and/or their voices used for advertising purposes related to this contest, free of charge.

5.3 Winners, or their parents or guardians if they are minors, shall sign a document attesting to their eligibility as stipulated in paragraph 2 of these rules and releasing CBC, their affiliates, as well as their respective directors, officers and employees, from all liability for any damage or loss arising from participation in this contest or from the awarding, acceptance or use of the prize.

Anyone accompanying the winner in connection with the prize, the parent or guardian of anyone accompanying the winner in connection with the prize shall sign a document releasing CBC, their affiliates, as well as their respective directors, officers and employees, from all liability for any damage or loss arising from use of the prize.

5.4 The prize shall be accepted as is and may not be exchanged for an amount of money, nor sold nor transferred. No substitutions will be allowed.

5.5 If the prize cannot be awarded as described in these rules, CBC, their affiliates, as well as their respective directors, officers and employees, reserve the right to substitute a prize or prize component with another of comparable value.

5.6 Refusal to accept the prize releases CBC, their affiliates, as well as their respective directors, officers and employees, of any obligation toward the winner.

5.7 Should winners make any false statement, they shall be automatically disqualified from the contest.

5.8 CBC, their affiliates, as well as their respective directors, officers and employees, shall assume no liability resulting from losses, delays, mistaken addresses on mail or e-mail received, typographical errors, technical, computer or telephone malfunctions, loss or theft of computer or telephone data, damage to software or computer equipment, fraudulent calls or any other mistake.

5.9 CBC, their affiliates, as well as their respective directors, officers and employees, shall assume no liability whatsoever for any situation in which their inability to act results from an event or situation beyond their control, including a strike, lockout or any other labour dispute at their location or the locations of the organizations and businesses whose services are used to hold this contest

5.10 All personal information, such as your name, address, telephone number, and e-mail address is collected solely for the purposes of administering this contest and shall not be used for any other purpose without your consent. By providing this information, you consent to it being used for the stated purposes.

5.11 By entering, contestants agree to abide by the contest rules which shall be applied by the CBC. All its decisions are final.
