Baltimore, Maryland’s dream pop progenitors Beach House have had a banner year thus far and, in a CBC Music interview today, singer/lyricist/keyboardist Victoria Legrand dropped some hints about some extracurricular activities.
Legrand and Alex Scally, the second half of Beach House, received rave reviews for their latest album, Bloom (out now on Sub Pop), a seemingly airy yet remarkably dense affair, which focuses on Legrand’s fascination with the imagination, as it relates to reality. They’ve already been touring heavily behind Bloom and play Vancouver’s Commodore Ballroom on Oct. 1 and Toronto’s Kool Haus Oct. 13.
When asked about the band’s future plans, Legrand was notably coy about a still-in-progress idea.
“The touring is first and foremost and we are working on a few little projects,” she admitted. “We have one video we’re working on and another thing we have up our sleeve. So, as the fall progresses into the winter, we’ll have a few more visual things but we’re putting most of our energy into the shows.”
Pressed about the visual works, Legrand gently held her ground.
“One is a music video but the other is not,” she said. “We’ll see. I don’t wanna jinx anything.”
