Eric Clapton owns guitars that are older than Derek Trucks. It would take a special kind of confidence in a young player to get on stage with — let alone tour with — Eric Clapton, as Derek Trucks did in 2006 at the age of 17. Trucks certainly had the guitar chops to do the job, but as he looks back on it he says that Clapton made it easy.
