Are you an organized person? Perhaps you are, but only when it comes to certain things but not others? What about when it comes to your music?
You may still be organizing CDs decades after buying them, or still adding all the album covers to your records on iTunes, but what about when you get band recommendations?
I recently went through what felt like 400 sticky notes filled with thoughts, albums, songs I heard on the classic R&B stream (which is awesome, FYI), random movie titles and funny quotes from books. I put a lot of them into a note pad, wrote some in my iPhone notes and then got tired and put the rest through a paper shredder. My system is not working, clearly, but I wasn’t smart enough to make an app to fix it. My friend Dan did.
Ever have someone create/ invent/ release something and thing “Maaan, why didn’t I think of that?” My pal just put out an app called Books Films Bands. Essentially you write down recommendations in one place. Pretty simple, makes sense, I hope he becomes a millionaire. But will I finally convince myself to stop writing things down? I still carry around a pad of sticky notes with me (and miss my old 4lb paper agenda!)
Perhaps I’m not the only one who loves writing things down (only to lose half of what I wrote.)
HOW DO YOU ORGANIZE YOUR MUSIC?
Do you have a system for music recommendations?
