I noticed today is one month away from the anticipated Polaris Prize award announcement held on September 24. I'm still catching up on the ten albums nominated. For example, Grimes's Visions is the CBC Music Short List Album Of the Week. Thanks to the fine folks at Arbutus Records, I was given the chance to hear the entire record for free. I'm excited to listen to an album I've been so curious about.
Do you find streaming entire album helps you decide if you want to buy it? Should an artist stream the entire project for our fine enjoyment and critique? Or, do you prefer keep it a mystery until you've bought the album?
In today's show I'll share my ideas on the matter and play songs from artists known to stream their music such as Feist, Divine Fits and Bend Sinister.
