RADIOGRAHAM doesn't sing or dance at the movies

Last week, I went to see The Rocky Horror Picture Show at a movie theatre. I'm not sure how I made it this far without doing so, but regardless, I was struck by it. Not the movie, which I've seen, but by the whole communal singing and dancing thing. I'm a pretty reserved guy, not too likely to bust a move in a movie theatre, so I'm always amazed when people feel comfortable boogying down.

This is a constant source of friction at regular old rock shows, too: is it okay to stand around a watch? Do you have to dance to get your money's worth?

I suspect that many of you out there are proud dancers, which is cool, but I'm wondering how many people like me are out there. Is it cool to go to The Rocky Horror Picture Show or whatever and just sit and watch? Or does not participating where participation is expected inevitably provider a lesser experienced?
