On Sept. 9, A Propos host Jim Corcoran paid a touching tribute to Quebec singer-songwriter Ève Cournoyer, who died last month at the age of 43.
Cournoyer was a unique artist on the Montreal music scene. She was a very personal and ferociously honest singer-songwriter, never superficial and always generous onstage.
She released her most recent album, Le labeur de la fleur, in early August and, a few days later, the music community in Montreal was shocked to find out that Cournoyer was found dead. Everyone was shaken by the news, and many artists and journalists voiced their feelings and reflections on this troubling story.
Hear Corcoran’s comments on this sad news, as well as a translation of “Tout ça me plait,” one of Cournoyer’s most recent songs.
