This week on Radio 2 Morning, we’re on a quest. Not for wisdom, or knowledge, or pastries; we’re on a quest to find the best one-hit wonder of all time. It’s the battle between "Come on Eileen" and "Closing Time," between Bachman and Bran Van. The winner will reign supreme as the ultimate flash in the pan.
And it's all to celebrate CBC Music's new One Hit Wonder stream, which you can listen to by finding it among our web radio stations on the right of the screen.
Here’s how it works. We have a list of nominees that were generated by you on our Twitter and Facebook pages. We’ve organized these into a Stanley Cup-like bracket (who says there’s a lockout?) and every day at 7:30 a.m. local time (8 a.m. in Newfoundland) we’ll be playing the two songs back to back, and you get to vote for the all-time best one-hit wonder.
The quarter-finals are over and the results are available in the bracket below. Some surprises (like New Radicals beating Canada's own son-of-Randy Tal Bachman) and some sure things (like Canada's own Bran Van 3000 beating White Town after Bran Van themselves tweeted a call for votes).

The winner of yesterday's battle was the New Radicals in the most lopsided victory of our tournament, winning by nearly a two-to-one margin over Tal Bachman.
Now we move onto the semi-finals to decide who will square off in the final battle of the fleeting-fame. First up is the winner of day one, '80s one-hit wonders (though according to some they had at least two) A-Ha and "Take on Me."
That squares off against the winner of day two, Chumbawumba's jock jam "Tubthumping."
You know what they say about Chumbawumba, they get knocked but they get up again.
