This week on Radio 2 Morning, we’re on a quest. Not for wisdom, or knowledge, or pastries; we’re on a quest to find the best one-hit wonder of all time. It’s the battle between "Come on Eileen" and "Closing Time," between Bachman and Bran Van. The winner will reign supreme as the ultimate flash in the pan.
And it's all to celebrate CBC Music's new One Hit Wonders stream, which you can listen to by finding it among our web radio stations on the right of the screen.
Here’s how it works. We have a list of nominees that were generated by you on our Twitter and Facebook pages. We’ve organized these into a Stanley Cup-like bracket (who says there’s a lockout?) and every day at 7:30 a.m. local time (8 a.m. in Newfoundland) we’ve been playing the two songs back to back, and you get to vote for the all-time best one-hit wonder.
The semi-finals are over and the results are available in the bracket below. Now it's time for the last corral, the championship, the finals.

The winner of yesterday's battle was the New Radicals, the feel-good, blink-and-you'll-miss-them band from the late '90s and their lone hit, "You Get What You Give." Both times they've won handily. Can they keep it up?
In the first corner of the ring we have the winner of the first round of semi-finals. Though a contentious choice by the listeners (many say they are much more than a one-hit wonder), A-Ha has steamrolled to their place as the favourite of the competition so far.
(This was fun, hey?)
