We’re still not sure if Morrissey was in on the joke, although it sure didn’t look like it when the infamously acrimonious singer and former Smiths frontman appeared on The Colbert Report Tuesday, Oct. 9.
The musician behind such albums as The Queen is Dead answered as expected when asked his thoughts on the monarchy (it’s “a horrible dictatorship”), the royal wedding (Pippa Middleton looked “horrendous”) and why he won’t cash in with a Smiths reunion (“not everybody’s a fat old slag”).
When Stephen Colbert proceeded to ask a line of completely ridiculous questions concerning Morrissey’s vegetarianism, the interview hit a new level of comic relief. See it for yourself below.
And to prove that Morrissey's not as bad as he'd like you to believe, he agreed to perform despite Colbert's constant jabs. Here he is doing "People Are the Same Everywhere."
