Best known to most people these days as Caribou, Dan Snaith describes the inspiration for his latest project, produced under his Daphni alias, thusly: "During the time I was making the Caribou album Swim, I’d fallen back in love with moments in small, dark clubs when a DJ puts on a piece of music that not only can you not identify, but that until you heard it you could not have conceived of existing."
If you have never personally experienced one of those moments in a small, dark club (and I suggest you move to correct that as soon as it's convenient), Daphni's Jiaolong is a great start, delivering maximum aural pleasure via its minimal, world-infused rhythm.
And speaking of those small, dark clubs, watch Snaith's 45 minute Boiler Room set. (Registration required)
