Earlier this week on Q, a debate was sparked regarding the standing ovation. A critic argued that the "standing-O" is far too automatic in the New York theatre scene... which can't help me wonder if this same automatic-standing-ovations crosses over into music. 

How often do you attend gigs in soft-seat theatres? Are the artists getting too many automatic standing ovations and encores? Do you feel like a jerk if you DON'T stand up? This brings me to my...
