2012, the year I fell in love with ...

It’s hard to believe it, but we’re almost at the end of 2012. Soon enough you won’t be able to escape the Best Of 2012 lists in all their pop culture glory. Maybe you’ve been taking notes and keeping track of your highlights, but chances are you’re a little over a month away from racking your brain to no end.

One of the easiest ways to conjure up those memories is to start with a simple fill in blank:

2012, the year I fell in love with ______.

Okay, so ‘love’ is being tossed around a bit loosely here (though you can fill in the blank with “spouse” if you really want to.) The thing about most Best Of lists is that they often limit you to releases and things that came out within that year. In addition to new acts that you discovered and couldn’t get enough of, 2012 could also be the year you discovered an old bands first record from the ‘50s, a new genre, or that you really do like Phish! Heck, you could have finally fallen in love with cilantro! So don’t feel limited to music and releases from 2012.

Today, fill in the blank and share!

I fell in love with Bahamas album Barchords (and, let’s be honest, I did my fair share of swooning over Afie Jurvanen in 2012) I also fell in love with the Bahamas birthday card that Brenda Lee sent me (above), rekindled my childhood love of Prince. I also tried to love white wine (that failed.) More of my picks to come, but what about you?
