This past June Jim Bryson and Jeremy Fisher teamed up to try what they called a ‘Catch and Release’. What started off as a conversation on Twitter ended up in a one day recording session the release of “Cigarette Thin (The Age of Asparagus).” Yesterday they teamed up again for another Catch and Release session which resulted in the release of “Mama I Know.”
Here’s what Jeremy Fisher, who penned the lyrics, had to say about the track:
“It’s a song about finding things out for your self in life rather than being told… I wouldn’t say a lot of people or everybody does it, but, you know when adults talk down to children and tell them that once they find out the way real life actually is they won’t be so happy go lucky? It’s a knee jerk reaction to that. It’s about going through life and figuring it out without being tainted by somebody’s cynical world view.”
