The Godfather of Canadian hip-hop, Maestro Fresh Wes, plans on releasing a brand new music video for his latest single “I Wanna Know,” off the Black Tuxedo EP. The single features the Trews, a hard rock band hailing from Nova Scotia and production from fellow Torontonian Rich Kidd.
This song stays true to Maestro’s theme of incorporating Canadian rock into his music, as can be heard in his use of samples from Lawrence Gowan, the Guess Who and more recently Blue Rodeo on his last single, “Reach for the Sky.”
"This is Canadian music at it's finest," says producer/artist Rich Kidd about the collaboration and song overall. "Not just Canadian hip hop, rock or classical music. It's Canadian music at it's finest."
