Back in June I spoke with Nathan Zahn, director of Winnipeg's MEME festival on the eve of the event's 3rd year. By all accounts, the festival continues to grow and become an important mechanism for furthering that city's electronic aspirations.
Recently, our attention was called to a set by Vancouver's Phil Western who headlined MEME festivities at The Cube stage in Winnipeg's historic Exchange District. We had heard some buzz around how great it was, but this was the first chance we had to check it out, and yup, it's pretty solid. Listen now:
