My Album of the Week is Dog Weather, by Sackville, NB's Baby Eagle and you can win a copy of it by listening closely to the show. You might know Baby Eagle best as Steven Lambke, founding guitarist/vocalist of Constantines. What started as a rustic solo project, has gotten progressively snarlier, as Lambke traded an acoustic for an electric guitar and got a band together to conjure a sonic din to match the colloquial mayhem that goes on in his words and voice. It's faithful and unsettling--the sound of the country taken over by electrical men and women, feasting on a sound they hunted down, with weary, weathered dogs at their sides, ready for anything that appears on the horizon, knowing life will be in their face before long. This is Dog Weather--commanding, frightening, and altogether vibrant.
