Boards of Canada's 'Dayvan Cowboy' feat. Felix Baumgartner's jump from the edge of space

It was bound to happen.

Somebody has gone and cut a "spiritual successor" to Melissa Olson's 2006 music video for Boards of Canada's "Dayvan Cowboy" (The Campfire Headphase, 2005), which featured footage from U.S. astronaut, Joe Kittinger's parachute jump from a height of 31.4 km at the edge of space. The new video features footage from Felix Baumgartner's recent jump from approximately 39km.

Sure, it's nice and all, and any opportunity to listen to Boards of Canada should be viewed as a bonus, but originality aside, I'm going to go and say the original is far superior. The fact that Olson's video finishes, not with touchdown, but a splashdown which transforms the astronaut into a surfer makes it that much more gorgeous.

Still, I think it's nice to imagine that you would listen to BoC while plunging to Earth at the speed of sound, and not have to listen to your own panicked screams.
