Voting wrapped up Wednesday for the In Concert Audience Award, electing Canada's greatest pianist of 2012.
You were asked to choose Canada's greatest pianist and you had three to pick from: Angela Hewitt, Louis Lortie and Marc-André Hamelin.
In the end, Hewitt captured some 45 per cent of the vote. It was close up until the end, but a final surge of Hewitt votes gave her the edge. Louis Lortie came in at 28 per cent of the vote and Marc-André Hamelin was close behind at 27 per cent.
We caught up with Hewitt in Ottawa. She had just made her way there from New York where she was stuck for a few soggy days thanks to hurricane Sandy. She told us she walked from 54th Street to 117th and thought she should get an award for walking!
